Winners of Annual Concerto Competition Announced

Following two days of intense competition at Hill Auditorium, the winners of the annual School of Music, Theatre & Dance Concerto Competition have been announced. The winners of the graduate division are Zachary Stern, saxophone (Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra by Paul Creston) and Katherine Calcamuggio, mezzo-soprano (Mr. Tambourine Man by John Corigliano). The undergrad winners are Yihua Eva Cao, piano (Piano Concerto no. 2 in G Minor, op. 22 by Camille Saint-Saëns) and Nathaniel Pierce, cello (Cello Concerto in A Minor, op. 129 by Robert Schumann). Each student wins the opportunity to perform their competition piece with one of the School's orchestras in an upcoming SMTD concert at Hill. Details will be available soon on the Calendar of Events. Congratulations to the winners!
