Musical Theatre student participates in masterclass with Kathleen Turner

 10/04/2012

Wonza Johnson, a musical theatre freshman, was selected from more than 5,000 applicants to be one of 150 National YoungArts Foundation winners. The competition recognizes and supports some of America’s most talented 15- to 18-year-olds in the visual, literary, and performing arts. In September, he was one of only four other Foundation winners to participate in a masterclass with acclaimed actress Kathleen Turner, which was filmed by the Simon & Goodman Picture Company for HBO’s YoungArts MasterClass, a documentary series. After airing on HBO later this year, the program will be distributed, free of charge, to high schools throughout the country.
