Mark Broomfield


Mark is assistant professor of theater and dance at Geneseo State University of New York, where he has been since 2012. In February 2016 he was awarded a Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty. He will use the fellowship to do research toward the completion of his book "Passing for Almost Straight: The Politics and Performance of Black Masculinity On and Offstage," and post-production work on his narrative documentary feature film,"Passing for Almost Straight."

Mr. Broomfield has a doctorate in critical dance studies and was a Ford Foundation predoctoral fellow through the National Research Council of National Academies from 2006-09.
